WE NEED NEW PLAYS
WE NEED NEW PLAYS is a Seattle-based short play festival dedicated to amplifying new works by local artists and creating opportunities for new play development.
In Summer 2024 (more info on time/place coming soon!), we will produce our first festival, a live staged reading of six 20-minute plays. Playwrights will have the opportunity to work with a director, dramaturg, and stage manager to develop their play before the performance.

Readers
Read some great plays and have a voice in festival selection! Readers do not have to be Seattle-based, so you can participate no matter where you are. This is a volunteer position.
Production Roles
We are looking for directors, dramaturgs, and stage managers. Applications are not currently open, but please fill out an interest form and we will reach out to you when they are!
These roles will be paid a small stipend.
Actors
If you’re interested in performing in our staged reading, please fill out an interest form and we will reach out when we put out a call for actors.
Admin Support
Want to play a behind-the-scenes role and gain admin experience? We’re looking for whatever type of support you’re willing to offer – social media, fundraising, production management, literary management, or whatever else you’re interested in.
